Tasked with keeping the official church records, the Church Historian and Recorder, often shortened to Church Historian, is a calling in the Latter Day Saint movement. In The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints it is a priesthood calling and the Church Historian is helped by Assistant Church Historians. For a few years in the Church of Christ (1830) the calling was separated into Church Historian and Church Recorder.
